Health Education for the Health Assessment Process

Description
The goal of this course is to enhance the skills that health assessors, health educators, and community involvement specialists need in order to interact positively and effectively with the diverse stakeholders involved in the public health assessment process. The course will be organized into 4 half-day modules. Each module will consist of a lecture followed by a group exercise. During the exercises, participants will work in small groups guided by an experienced mentor. Enrollment will be limited to 20 participants.

This will be an advanced, highly interactive onsite course. The participants should have successfully completed either the ATSDR Basic Course for Health Assessment and Consultation or the online training series "Public Health Assessment Overview (Parts 1-3)" plus have at least one year of relevant professional experience.

The course will use active participation as the method of instruction. The course will be structured to allow time for questions and discussion.
